Artigo da Conferência Challenges 2007 / AMBIENTES EMERGENTES Aprendizagem com Dispositivos Móveis: Aspectos Técnicos e Pedagógicos a Serem Considerados num Sistema de Educação.

 Esta comunicação aborda o tema, muito actual, da importância dos meios tecnológicos como apoio à educação. Uma educação que, cada vez mais é muito para além da escola – educação ao longo da vida, e mesmo em idade escolar se processa muito, fora dos portões da escola.Dentro da tecnologia, actualmente a necessidade de mobilidade obriga-nos a olhar para um conjunto de dispositivos que proporcionam um ambiente informativo, em qualquer lugar e a qualquer hora.          Entre estes existem os tradicionais, como a WWW, mas actualmente a Web móvel, os telemóveis com acesso de Internet; PDA; Smartphone… Estes meios tornam-se cada vez mais atractivos e populares devido à sua funcionalidade, simplicidade, portabilidade e facilidade de utilização. Daí serem atractivos para todos, em especial para os jovens.         Os docentes podem e devem aproveitar esta sedução dos jovens pelos media para transpor as paredes da sala de aula e manter a comunicação com os alunos fazendo uso da tecnologia, diversificando estratégias e actividades, contribuindo para aprendizagens mais significativas.         Os autores alertam, neste artigo, que há algumas considerações técnicas importantes a ter em conta, prévias à implementação das tecnologias acima mencionadas como instrumento de educação, nomeadamente de Educação a Distância.         Para além das considerações ao nível da tecnologia necessária, referem-se ainda os autores à necessidade de reflexão nas estratégias e na metodologia utilizada no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Alertam que não pode ser apenas um meio de entrega e devolução de materiais, mas deve ajudar a criar flexibilidade cognitiva e o sentido de comunidade entre tutor e aprendentes.          Há que fazer um uso pensado destas tecnologias, não as integrando como algo mais num ensino tradicional, mas sim, de facto, derrubando as paredes da sala de aula e criando novas formas de ensinar e aprender com recurso à tecnologia.
